27-29/3/2023    XIII Carbohydrate Meeting

The XIII Jornadas de Carbohidratos aims at gathering together our carbohydrate community after few years of restricted on site events due to the Covid pandemics, to present recent research achievements, exchange scientific discussions and strengthen our collaborations.

The meeting will try to consolidate the interplay between chemistry and biology and reinforce the needed interaction between glycochemistry, glycobiology, and applied glycosciences.

The program covers a broad spectrum of current research in basic and applied Glycoscience. You are invited to contribute to the following topics:

  1. Preparation of Carbohydrates and Carbohydrate-based materials
  2. Structure, Analysis and Molecular recognition of Carbohydrates
  3. Glycobiology in health and disease
  4. Carbohydrates in biotechnology and other applications

The 2.5-day symposium will include 3 plenary lectures, 8 invited lectures and 13 oral communications, as well as two poster sessions. Additionally, two Poster pitch session will allow all poster presenters to deliver a 1-minute talk to introduce their posters in advance to the poster sessions.

We encourage the participation of young researchers, PhD students and recent postdocs. Therefore, we will appreciate that group leaders and PhD advisors encourage your team members to participate in the meeting and join the Carbohydrate Group.

Visit regularly the website of the meeting for updates of the scientific program.

During the meeting we will have the General Assembly of the Spanish Carbohydrate Group to plan and discuss about future activities.

Hosting the meeting in Barcelona is also an opportunity to visit Barcelona, a cosmopolitan city with Mediterranean character and intercultural heritage. Either before or after the symposium you will be able to enjoy the city, its architecture including amazing Gaudi’s buildings, its museums and its water forefront.
